Dans le cadre d’une série de concerts avec l’Orchestre de Bretagne autour de Carnaval des Animaux (Saint-Saëns), les élèves de CM2 à Saint Gilles ont eu un entretien avec Nidal Qannari, le conteur, et Elizabeth Asken-Brie, la chef d’orchestre américaine. Les élèves avaient préparé beaucoup de questions.

The concerts will be performed with actor Nidal Qannari and will take place in the Bretagne region.

Noted as the youngest major orchestra in France, the Orchestre de Bretagne proudly serves its local and regional communities while enjoying increasing recognition in leading European and North American festivals and concert halls (Vienna Konzerthaus, London’s Queen Elisabeth Hall, New York’s Lincoln Center in the “great performers” series, Tokyo Forum in the context of the « Folle Journée au Japon » festival, Salle Pleyel, Salle Gaveau and Maison de Radio France in Paris, etc.).

The concert features the Newman and Oltman Guitar Duo and the Orchestra from the Opéra de Reims in a programme entitled « From the New World ».

Askren will conduct the World Premiere of Concierto Buenos Aires, the latest concerto composed by internationally renowned composer, arranger and master of the bandoneon Daniel Binelli.

The Fondation des Etats-Unis announces its presentation video which is now uploaded and viewable on the homepage of its website, www.feusa.org .  Created in partnership with the American Center France and the Embassy of the United States in France, the video features fully bilingual commentary presenting the Fondation’s history, mission statement, and spirit.

The film is dedicated to the Fondation’s residents past and present, and showcases several prominent members of its community, including Harriet Hale Woolley (HHW) scholars and members of PONT – Portes Ouvertes aux Nouveaux Talents, the pre-professional program for artists and musicians in residence at the Fondation.

Elizabeth ASKREN was invited to fill in as guest conductor for a commercial recording session with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  The session was recorded at AIR Studios in London and featured La Concorde, Gabon’s national anthem, re-orchestrated by Frédéric Gassita, who infused the work with jazz and folk-inspired elements.  The project was managed by Retentive Sound Agency in Paris.
