<h2>1st AMERICAN WINS FRANCE’S ADAMI CONDUCTING PRIZE</h2>
<h3>Elizabeth Askren, conductor, wins Adami’s “Talents Chef d’Orchestre” prize</h3>
<div id="_mcePaste">A native New Yorker based in Paris for over a decade, conductor Elizabeth Askren has been awarded the 2010 «Talents Chefs d’Orchestre» prize, attributed by France’s organization, Adami (Administration des Droits des Artistes et Musiciens Interprètes).</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">The prize recognizes conductors under 35 who are confirmed professionals and residents of France. Selected by an international jury, the three laureates will be featured in a public showcase concert, to which agents, festival and orchestra Directors, the media and other members of the artistic community are invited.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">A graduate of the Juilliard School, Oberlin Conservatory, and Bard’s Conductor’s Institute, Ms. Askren came to Paris in 1998 to study piano and conducting as a Woolley scholar of the Fondation des Etats-Unis. Working with leading period and modern instrument ensembles in Europe and North America, she has established a reputation on both sides of the Atlantic as a passionate conductor at home in both symphonic and operatic</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">repertoire.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">Ms. Askren will conduct the Orchestre Colonne in concert at the Salle Gaveau on October 12th, 2010 at 8pm.  She will perform Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony in a program also featuring works by Mozart and Beethoven.</div>
<div>Ms. Askren is honored to be the first American to receive this prize.</div>

<p>As the winner of Adami&#8217;s &laquo;&nbsp;Talents Chefs d&#8217;Orchestre&nbsp;&raquo;  2010 prize, Elizabeth Askren will be featured on French Radio station &laquo;&nbsp;Fréquence Protestante&nbsp;&raquo;.  She will be interviewed as a guest of Marc Portehaut, a leading radio host in the French classical milieu.</p>
<p>During her interview with Marc Portehaut, Elizabeth Askren speaks about winning the ADAMI &laquo;&nbsp;Talents Chefs d&#8217;Orchestre&nbsp;&raquo; prize, and explores music from the old and new worlds.</p>
<p>The interview will be broadcast on Friday, September 30th at 2:45pm.</p>
